PinWooferTM – DIY – “Do It Yourself”
This product is intended for those who want to customize their pinball audio system, have the confidence and technical know-how to do so, but want to avoid the hassle and disappointment of trying to kludge everything together separately, spending the time to do so and likely ending up with a poor result.
Do the math and factor in your time and risk of a poor outcome and you’ll see that this is a very sensible alternative to pure “DIY”!
If you are confused or unsure if this is the right pinball audio system for you, it is not. If this is the case, please select a full PinWooferTM Super Kit using the “Search” option in the upper right-hand corner of the web page. A distinct advantage of the full PinWooferTM Super Kit is that technical support is offered during the warranty period for the original target machine. The PinWooferTM Super Kit is supported by highly detailed installation videos, electronic instructions in addition to a well-developed blog that has tips and tricks to get your machine sounding great.
The PinWooferTM DIY system is minimally supported outside of the warranty terms, and while instructions for connection are provided, technical support is not readily included. The DIY is brutally simple and if you have a problem, please take the time required to diagnose what might be wrong with your setup before contacting us.

The amplifier and power board (the most challenging items to get right) form the basis for this product and are always included. It is also largely plug and play using the factory speaker wire harnesses and audio source. A custom power cable is also provided.
For Jersey Jack Pinball (JJP) titles, the amplifier hole pattern matches the backbox mounting locations for the factory amplifier card. The PinWooferTM DIY Amplifier replaces the factory amplifier. Optionally select upgraded backbox tweeters (keep the backbox mid-range speakers in play). TWEETERS ARE VITAL FOR A GOOD OUTCOME! Optionally select a cabinet speaker and mounting ring.

2.1 MAX Amplification - 50Wx50Wx100W Final Stage*
Optionally select other items as listed to support your install.
Optional Line Trimmer:
- It is strongly recommended that you purchase the PinWoofer Line Trimmer if you use an external subwoofer, streaming device, etc. and source it from the Amplifier’s Output jack. (You can alternately source the signal to an external sub from the line out board provided, which does not require a Line Trimmer). The Line Trimmer allows you to reduce the amplifier output signal level and can prevent the inputs of your external device from seeing an overload condition. Option includes i) one Line Trimmer Unit, ii) one 3ft, 3.5mm TRS Male to 3.5mm TRS Male Stereo Cable, iii) one 12ft 3.5mm TRS Male to RCA Male Stereo Cable and iv) Adhesive Double Sticky Mounting Pad.
* Average maximum amplifier power in application can be approximated by taking the product of the MAX power rating per channel and 1/(√2*1.5) and average maximum RMS Power is determined by a further 1.5 divisor.

JJP Willy Wonka
As many people have complained, the sound on the Willy Wonka machine is poor. I have had issues with this since I first received the machine years ago. After hearing about Pinwoofer, I reached out to Dan who was more than helpful to go over the choices with me. I decided on this DIY kit as I didnt want to take up much room by the coin box and it was a bit less expensive.... I was very skeptical... And let me tell you, WOW! The sound on my Wonka machine has come to life. I was shocked at how much more mid and bass tones were now there. I am hearing sounds that I have never heard before. The no longer have any scratchy sounds from the tweeters (did the tweeter upgrade). Just everything sounds sooo much better! One thing to note is that it takes a little bit of dialing in. What I did, was started with the bass dials. The amp needs to draw a lot of power to move the cabinet sub, so that should be on the higher side. Then you can play with the bass frequency as you like. From there, I was able to dial in the backbox volume. I found that if the backbox volume was too high, it took away from the cabinet sub, so this needed to be balanced. Once that as set, I was then able to dial in the treble volume. One thing to mention with the DIY kit is that since it sits in the backbox, it is not as easy to get to when making changes, compared to the other kits that sit closer to the coin door.. All said and done, I am extremely happy that I purchased this upgrade. Anyone who is not happy with the sound on their Wonka machine should look right here. It sounds so much better with so much more depth, I really don't even know if I need an external sub anymore. One last thing to mention, the outstanding service by Pinwoofer. They are there to help you every step of the way if you choose. That is something that you dont see often and they are top notch. Great job Pinwoofer!! Just cant say enough about this upgrade.
