PinWoofer - Spike-2 Menu Speaker Impedance Setting
Posted by PinWoofer on Aug 4th 2021
For all PinWoofer Spike-2 amplifiers, set both the cabinet and backbox menu speaker impedance to 8 Ohms, for all titles.
The 4 Ohm setting does nothing more than attenuate the pre-amp signal and thusly, the signal sent to the PinWoofer Amplifier.
In particular, if the backbox speaker impedance is set to 4 Ohm, your PinWoofer kit may seem to be lacking power and not able to get loud enough.
Keep in mind that the PinWoofer Amplifier now drives the speakers, and not the Spike-2 CPU Node Board Amplifier. Therefore, the impedance setting may work against you if set to 4 Ohm.
